For You, We Prayed

This post will be short on words and heavy on pictures but that is what you are here for anyways!

I can honestly say the exhaustion has set in.  We were like kids in a candy store when we

found Pepsi at the market this afternoon.  Stuart said it helped but I couldn't tell.

 

 

We had our meeting this morning and signed papers asking permission to visit Lucy.  From there

we went straight to the baby house.  We received all of her family history and medical

information.  It broke our hearts but we were relieved that all parental rights were terminated right

after birth.  We had assumed this but sometimes they are still tracking down grandparents.  Both of

her Grandmas had contacted the baby house and they also relinquished their rights.  She has had

no visitors or phone calls checking her status.  While we were still talking the caregiver walked

in the room holding Lucy.  We had twenty minutes to love on her before we had to leave.  Oh, the

emotions in a moment like that are beyond words.  As quick as she arrived in the room, the caregiver

was back and she took her out of the room

 

We left and hit the market and ate lunch in our room.  Time just wouldn't move fast enough. 

Our driver was finally back at 3pm for our next visit.

 

 

There are so many trees here and I did not see this entrance the first time out.  There is a

yellow sign but the road to the baby house is almost undetectable.  After driving down

a one lane trail road for about a mile the fence and buildings come in to view.

 

 

 

 

The buildings are old and run down.  The windows seemed newer and it was very warm

inside.  A little too warm for us!

 

 

 

She was a lot more active this visit.  She loved my necklace and we even had a few giggles.

We played with toys, changed her clothes, and we checked her out from head to toe.  We were

able to love on her for over two hours, it was amazing.

I had to run to the bathroom and when I got back to the room, Stuart had almost rocked

her to sleep.  So, of course, I took her from him and finished the job.

 

 

 

Is there anything sweeter than holding a sleeping baby? 

 

 

 

Our bodies are weary tonight but our hearts are full.  We fell in love today with a beautiful

little girl.  We will visit her twice a day for the next three days and we will have

some time to do some sightseeing and exploring while we are here.  We have had several

answered prayers since we have arrived.  Thank you friends for praying for us on this

journey.
